Kent, Knight (Visitation of Warwickshire, 1619, page5). The visitation of Kent, 1619 erroneously states that Elizabeth, wife of James Clerk, was a daughter of Sir Edward Ferrers; but Sir Edward Ferrers in his will, dated 10 July 1535 (P.C.C., Hogen 29), mentions his daughter Elizabeth as wife of John Hampden and also leaves a legacy to his nephew George Clerke. This correction has been made.
