RICHARD BAKER, Will 7 August 1504
7 August 1504, Richard Baker of Cranebrok. To be buried in the churcheyard of the parisshe church of Cranebrok. To reparacion of the ymage of Saint Dunstane in the foresaid church 20d. To John my sone a maser and a flate pece of siluer at his age of 24 yeres. If he decesse then to Thomas my son. My sone James my grettest brasse pot. To mariage of euery of my three doughters £16. 13. 4 to fulfil the sum of £20. All my stuff of my houshold I woll it be atte gyding of Johane my wif. If she marry then to have oon part therof. To Mr. Richard Wison, Vicar of Crankbrok 3s. 4d. To Sr. John Bolde parisshe preest of the foresaid church of Cranebrok 20d. To John Baker, scolemaister in Cranebrok 3s. 4d. To Elizabeth wife of the said John in pens and penyworth 3s. 4d. To William Garrard 6s. 8d. My executours 40s. and during the tyme till the youngest of my sones come to thage of 24 yeres 3s. 8d. yearly aboue their labour and sapences. Residue betwene my sones. Executors John Davy and Thomas Sheff. Gervase Hendele

Last Will: My executours to suffre Johanne my wif to have to hir the mesuage that Blak Barbor now holdeth and dwellith yn and £4 yerely all the tyme she abideth my wedow and lyuing Benet my moder and if Benet my moder dye then Johane my wife then beying my wedow to have the mesuage. Residue of all my londs, tenements &e in Kent and Sussex to my executors till my eldest sone lyving cometh to the age of 24. Myn executors to pay to John my sonne yerely till he come at the age of 24 yeres to fynde hym to scole as well in recompence of the londs in Stapulhurst by my fader assigned to hym and of my bequest to fynde hym to his lernyng in Court. The londs assigned to my sone Thomas in Burwasshe by my fader. To James my sone for his part the tenement that I dwell yn and the lands apperteyning.
