Prince styles Sir Baldwin "a great soldier and a traveller of so undaunted resolution, that, for the honour and liberty of a royal lady, in a castle besieged by the infidels, he fought a combat with a Sarazen; for bulk and bigness an unequal match, (as the representation of him cut in the wainscot in Fulford Hall doth plainly show,) whom yet he vanquished, and rescued the lady." He married Elizabeth, daughter and co-heiress of Sir John Bozom, of Bozomzeal.

- Title: Inquisitions Post Mortem (IPMs) for Baldwin Fulford 1464
Note: IPM taken at Launceston 1 Oct. 1464 on the estate of Baldwin Fulford (Cornwall and Devonshire Inquisitions Post Mortem, Damerel-Greienvill LDS film #917527):
"William Durneforde was seised of the manors of Durneford, Hokeh... and.... [and has issue Nichola] who married Henry Fulford; and gave those manors to the said Henry and Nichola and their heirs; they had issue Alice, who married William Bykebury, they had issue Elizabeth. Alice and William died; Elizabeth married Robert Burton, and they had issue Elizabeth. Nichola afterwards died and Henry Fulford married Willelma daughter of Nicholas Morton; they had issue Baldwin Fulford aforesaid; Henry and Willelma are dead. Robert Burton and Elizabeth his wife were seised of the said manors: the said Elizabeth died and her daughter Elizabeth died without issue; Robert is yet living, and holds the same, with reversion to said Baldwin."
Note: The only error in the above is the statement that the daughter of Henry and wife of William Bykebury was called Alice; her name was Joan, as shown in her husband's IPM. Otherwise, the descent of the manors as above is confirmed in the IPMs of William Bykebury and Robert Burton.
