Biography
JOHN ASTLEY Esq was born about 1423 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England[1][2] as the first child of Thomas Astley Esq of Hillmorton and Melton Constable and his second wife, Isabel Okes. His father Thomas de Astley (bet 1386 - aft 1423) married twice; the first wife was Elizabeth Dacres, who bore gules, 3 escallops, argent; and his second wife was Isabel, daughter of Jeffrey Okes, of Shrubland in Suffolk, who bore sable, on a fess, between six acorns, argent, three oak leaves, vert. His parents, Thomas and Isabel, presented to the Melton church in the year 1422.
At age 25, JOHN married ELIZABETH WICKINGHAM, daughter of Edmund Wickingham and Alice Fastoff, about 1448 in Melton, and he died between May-Jun 1475 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England[2].
JOHN ASTLEY Esq signed his will on 08 Apr 1475 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England (in it he mentions 2 sons, Thomas and Robert, a daughter, Alice, married to John Calthorp, Esq. and a daughter, Constantia, to whom he bequeaths 40£.) He was buried before Jun 1475 in Blakeney, Norfolk, England[2]
His estate was probated on 23 Jun 1475 in Melton Constable (bequeaths his manor of Melton to his executors for 2 years, to perform his will, and his body to be buried in the church of the Carmes at Blakeney.[2]). THOMAS ASTLEY ESQ was born about 1452 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England.[1][2] He died between 07 Jun 1500-12 Mar 1501 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England[1]. He married Margery Lomner in 1477 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England[2]. and later married Elizabeth Clipesby.
ROBERT ASTLEY was born about 1454 in Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England.[1][2] He died after 03 Jun 1517 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England. He married CECILY _____ about 1475.
CONSTANTIA ASTLEY was born about 1456 in Melton Constable, Norfolk, England. (She, was bequeathed 40£ from her father.[2] ).
