1st Baron of Wedderburn. He received from Archibald, Earl of Douglas, a grant Barony of Wedderburn, County Berwick, in 1413 which received royal confirmation April 19, 1430. He was knighted by King James II in 1443. He and his wife Alice, had an additional charter from the superior, Archibald, 4th Earl of Douglas, confirmed by royal charter, dated Stirling, May 16, 1450. Sir David Home received from his father the lands of Thurston. He was a Knight of the Golden Order and was one of the Commissioners to treat with the English.
"The Scottish Nation" by William Anderson, pg 483 indicate he was born in 1413 and died in 1469.
Sir David Home (2nd son of Sir John Home of that ilk) had a charter from the 4th Earl of Douglas of the lands of Wedderburn, Berwickshire, part of the forfeited estates of 10th Earl of Dunbar, which was confirmed by the latter Earl on his restitution in 1413 and by James I of Scotland 19 April 1431.
