  As recorded in the 'Dictionary of National Biography', vol 1-20,22 pages 782-783
  Richard was an educated man and studied to be a lawyer. In 1491 he represented his county in parliament. In march 1492 he became 'Speaker of the House'. He was knighted in February 1503 and in 1504 became the 'High Steward' of Cambridge University. He was involved in tax extraction which acquired him many enemies. He was however in favour with King Henry V11 and was the executor of King Henry V11's will. King Henry V11's death left him without a protector and he was tried for treason and tyrannisation, He was sent to 'The Tower' in October 1509 and was excecuted upon King Henry V111's command on 17 August 1510.
