WILLIAM VEL THOMAS4 GRESWOLD (Richard3, Ralph2, John1), son of (3) Richard3 and (TH-2) _____ (GROME) GRESWOLD, was born between 1319/20 and 1386, and died between 1379 and 1496 in Solihull[51]. He married (SS-2) ISABELL GRANGE, daughter of (SS-1) Thomas GRANGE. [50, 15, 55, 51] vel is the Latin term for "or" and William is almost always termed thus. In later records the term "als" (alius) is more frequent but means the same.[50] William (vel Thomas) Greswold married Isabell Grange (heir of Thomas). The Grange family seat was at Grange Green, adjoining Kyneton. They had two children, John Greswold, born about 1390, at Kyneton, died about 1459; and Thomas Greswold, born about 1390/95, at Kyneton, Solihull, Warwickshire, England died before 10 Oct 1458. John Greswold, of Kyneton Hall, was born about 1390, in Solihull, Warwickshire, England. He married Margaret Bromley about 1413. She was the daughter of Henry Bromely and Alice Hawes of Longdon Hall, a manor just east of Ulverley. John died in Solihull, Warwickshire, England, before the 1459 deed from John, his son, to Richard, the vicar. Since John went to Longdon Hall after marrying the daughter of Henry Bromley, he may have been the younger. They had three children: John Greswold, born about 1414, died about 1473; Richard Greswold, born 1417, Vicar of Tanworth-in-Arden from 1441 until his death in 1465 in Tanworth-In-Arden, Warwickshire, England; Christian Greswold, born about 1420, she married John West.
