  Agnes Letton, daughter of Edmund, was the first wife of Thomas Golding of Cavendish, co. Suff., and Belchamp-Walter, co. Essex. Their daughter Joane married John Coo V. Joane was "the eldest half-sister of John Golding Esq., Auditor of the Exchequer, whom John Coo V appointed supervisor of his will. The pedigree of this Golding family appears in the Visitations of Essex in 1552 and 1558," according to Bartlett's Coe genealogy. Edmund Letton is identified as Agnes's father in the Visitation of Essex, 1558. See memories.
  
  "The will of Thomas Goldyng dated at Cavendish, co. Suffolk, Jan. 5, 1504-5, probated Feb. 13, 1504-5, mentions Agnes "that was my wife"; seven daughters, Johane Coo, Alice Barker, Margery Strut, Johane Crisale, Agnes Smyth, Kateryn Golding and Johane Goldyng (to each of whom was left £20); three sons Roger Golding, John Golding, and Thomas Golding; and present wife Elizabeth." Note that this would be 3 adult daughters named Joane. The whole thing makes me nervous. More verification is needed.
