John and Mary were WilliamäOs parents. The Fauconberges had been lords inAppleton since 1225. It was probably they who constructed the moated SouthwoodManor, subsequently rebuilt? and renamed Brockethall Manor by Thomas Broket.The Appleton Fauconberges were a younger, more local line, while the elderline operated on the national level, based mainly nevertheless not far awayin Skelton. At any rate, with one or two small question marks, DionesiaäOs ancestry can be traced back to Norman warrior lords who came toEngland with William the Conqueror.
