  In Volume 9 of his 'Shropshire Antiquities', Eyton states that there were five sons from this marriage: John, the eldest (who married Matilda daughter of Henry of Erdington and who was gifted his parents' estate at Roden in 1311) Thomas, Stephen, Philip and Oliver.
  
  That John is the eldest son can be confirmed from an undated deed in the Shropshire Archives (ref:6000/10720) affirming a grant of land which his father made to Sir Thomas and Petronilla Boterel. In the deed, he is referred to as 'John de la Lee, son and heir of Sir Thomas de la Lee'. (Note: One of the witnesses to the deed is Reginald de la Lee - presumably John's uncle.)
