=== Known as John Catesby of Ladbrooke. ===
Known as John Catesby of Ladbrooke. He was member of parliament for the county in 1372-3 and in 1392-3. There are several descendants of John and Emma Catesby buried in the church of Ashby St. Ledgers. "At the upper end of both the isles are two places parted off from the rest, which wseem to have been antiently appropriated to the use of particular families. In one of them, which was called St. Mary's Chapel, several of the Catesbys were buried, though the inscriptions on their monuments are now effaced. Among the rest, there lay John de Catesby, the first of the family who possessed this Lordship, with Emma, his wife, as may be gathered from two escutcheaons remaining over thier heads, the one of Lodbroke quartering Catesby, and the other of Catesby impaling Cranford."
