=== In 1349 William de Shriburn, the rector of All Saints church, Bolton Percy gave Johannis a 10 year lease on a messuage (house), garden, land and wood. This was located in Cannock in Staffordshire. ===
Towards the end of 1349 William de Shriburn sued Johannes for chopping down oak, ash, hazel and apple trees and selling the wood. The complaint also referred to the sale of stone, clay and digging pits and the removal of a ‘chamber’ (toilet). William had inherited the house and land in a ‘ruinous state’ from his father.
