Bedford in 1326…JOAN MORTEYN, wife of John Chamberlain in about 1313…John Chamberlain evidently had a second wife, for in 1323/4, the manor of Gatesden was settled on himself and his wife, Aubrey ___. On 10 July 1324, he had a license to grant to Robert Baldock (the Chancellor) for life the manor of Stanbridge, with remainder to his son Richard [II] Chamberlain and Margaret his wife.
