  === Life Sketch ===
  Elizabeth was the youngest daughter of John d' Avranches and his wife Amice____. She was three years old when her father died, leaving three young girls as heirs. Custody of the girls and rights to their marriage was given to Emery de Bezill by the King. The marriage of Amice was also given to Emery. Elizabeth was married to Mathias de Besilles, nephew of Emery. He was the second son and therefore landless, hence the need for an heiress. She was married as late as age seventeen, but more likely was married at puberty.
  
  Mathias died in 1296 aged about 40 or so and she died in 1315 aged about 60. She left as her heir, her son Geoffrey who was at least 24 years old when she died. if he was born as late as 1291 then she would have been married for almost twenty years when she had him.
  
  Elizabeth left her son her manor of Brompton Regis, Redcot and the estate of West Hall in Buckland.
