  Robert de Scales was born in 1315 in Middleton, Norfolk, England. He was the son of Sir Knight Robert V de Scales, 2nd Baron of Worlington (1279-1325) and Egeline de (Courtenay) Scales (1282-1335).
  
  Robert married Catherine de Ufford (1318-1343) in Middleton, Norfolk, England on 6 May 1335. Catherine was the daughter of Robert II de Ufford Earl of Suffolk (1298-1369) and Margaret de (Norwich) Ufford (1300-1368).
  
  Robert VI de Scales 3rd Baron of Worlington was engaged in several military expeditions. In 1337 he went on the Kings Service overseas with Robert d'Ufford, 1st Earl of Suffolk and Peter de Scales (presumably his brother or son). He was summoned to Parliament from 1343 until his death in 1370.
  
  Robert married Catherine, sister and co-heir of William de Ufford, 2nd Earl of Suffolk, by whom he had three sons and two daughters: Peter de Scales, who married Johanna and held Wetherden in Suffolk in 1330 and 1346. Robert de Scales, Roger de Scales, 4th Baron Scales (1354–1387). Margaret de Scales, who married Sir Robert Howard (-1388) son of Sir John Howard and had one son Sir John Howard. Elizabeth de Scales, who married Sir Roger Felbrigg and was buried at St Margaret, Felbrigg.
  
  Robert died on 13 Aug 1369 in Worlington, Mildenhall, Suffolk, England. He was 54 years old. His burial is unknown at this time.
