Ordained in St. Anthony's Church, St. Louis, Missouri, by Archbishop Glennon, June 28, 1912.The first prest from Dodge County, he read his first Mass July 2, 1912, in St. Mary's Church, Ridgeley, Nebraska. His nephews Francis Emanuel, Leo Emanuel, and Nicholas Ries carried the pillows bearing the wheat, grapes, and chalice. Mass servers were Clarence Ries and BernardEmanuel. Professor at St. Joseph's College, Teutopolis, Illinois, September 1913 to June 1916, Professor at Quincy College, Quincy, Illinois, from Spetember 1916 to June 1928. Elected Minister Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province July 14, 1948. Died January 3, 1949 in St. Louis, Mo. Buried in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery where interred in the Friar's lot. Celebrated his 25th Jubilee in 1937
