=== Is Ellen or Maud, William's wife ===
There is confusion as to whether Maud Davenport is aka as Ellen Davenport.
From pedigrees in Memories, Maud's father is named as Sir John Davenport whereas Ellen's father is named as Roger Davenport.
These seem like two different people to me BUT which one married William Bulkeley, son of Robert Bulkeley.
Maud's mother is Matilda de Rode which would fit her name e.g.
'Maud or Maude (approximately pronounced "mawd" in English), is an Old German name meaning "powerful battler". It is a variant of the given name Matilda but is uncommon as a surname. The Welsh variant of this name is Mawd'.

&
Margery de Brereton
