  === Sir Herbert St. Quintin, held 12 caruca ===
  Sir Herbert St. Quintin, held 12 carucates of land in Mapleton and Rolston of Bruces fee, 7th of Edward I, 1279. He married Mary, daughter of Walter Fauconberg, of Skelton. Sir Herbert died at Frome St. Quintin, County Dorset, 31st of Edward I, 1303. He was summoned to Parliament 1282, and in later years for service against the Welsh, Scots, and in Gascony in France, and in 1287 and 1297 he was summoned to the military councils, by writ of 8 June, 1294 (six days before the general writ of summons for service in Gascony). He was summoned with 59 others to a council on matters touching the Crown and Realm, the King's honour and theirs. This list of 59 men is a partial list of those summoned to Parliament at Westminster July, 1294, of which there is no other record extant. He died Feb., 1303, at which time he was holding Stanton Quinton, in Wilts and Dorset of the Earl of Gloucester, and had Brandesburton, etc., in Holderness of the crown, as of the honour of Amale. His only son, Herbert St. Quintin, died in the lifetime of his father, before 1303.
