  Margaret of Mar, was the daughter of Domhnall I, 6th Earl of Mar and Helen verch Llewellyn, a daughter of Llewelyn the Great. Therefore a granddaughter of the King of Wales. Marjorie’s sister, Isabella of Mar, was the first wife of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland).
  
  Marjorie married (1) John of Strathbogie, Earl of Atholl who was executed by the English in London on 7 November 1306. (2) Kenneth de Moravia who died 19 July 1333, the 4th Earl of Sutherland and chief of Clan Sutherland.
  
  Together they had 3 children:
  - William, 5th Earl of Sutherland.
  - Nicholas Sutherland, 1st of Duffus, the surname being now fully adopted, ancestor of the Sutherlands, Lords Duffus.
  - Eustachia, married Gilbert Moray, son and heir of Reginald Moray of Culbin.
