before 1214, Thomas de Camville was married to Agnes,[2] and they had children:
a son, who was by 22 January, 1235, married to the daughter of Hamo de Crèvecoeur, and still a minor, therefore born after 22 January, 1214;
before 26 July, 1236, William de Marigny had married Agnes, without the king's licence;
On 22 January 19 Henry III (1235), at Westminster, Hamo de Crèvecoeur made a fine with the king [Henry III of England] of 600 marks for having custody of the land of Thomas de Camville, whose son and heir took Hamo's daughter to wife, until the full age of Thomas de Camville's heir. Order to Richard de la Lade and Adam son of William, the king's escheators in Kent, that, having accepted security from Hamo for rendering the aforesaid 600 marks to the king, they are to cause him to have full seisin of all lands formerly of Thomas, of which he was seised on the day he died and which are in the king's hand, as aforesaid, saving to Agnes, who was the wife of the aforesaid Thomas, her rightful dower that falls to her from the aforesaid lands. An order was also sent to the sheriff of Oxfordshire concerning the manor of Godington, formerly held by Thomas de Camville, out of which no dower was to be given to Agnes.
On 26 July 20 Henry III (1236), Oddington. Essex. William de Marigny made a fine with the king of 40 marks because he took to wife Agnes, who was the wife of Thomas de Camville, who was of the king's gift, without the king's licence. Order to the sheriff of Essex and Hertfordshire to penalise or molest William in no manner by the aforesaid reason, and to cause him to have the land and chattels of the same William and Agnes, which he took into the king's hand for the aforesaid reason.
