His wife was christened in 1576, so assuming that he was somewhat older than his wife, it can be estimated that John was born in perhaps 1570. “ Page 101: “…The Roxwell Parish register records his marriage on 27 December, 1599 to Jane, the daughter and co-heiress of Edward Elliot of Newland Hall, Esquire.
