=== Life Sketch ===
From Wiki Tree
Simon was born about about 1165 based on his majority by 1191. He is believed but not proven to be the son of William of Folkstone. He was granted the right to a weekly market and a yearly fair at Folkstone.[1]
He married Cecelia____ who survived him. She paid King john 100 marks and two palfreys for the right to remain unmarried. Their son William was a rebel baron in the first Baron's War of 1215-1217 and was captured and imprisoned in Corfe Castle. Cecilia had to sell land to free him. [2]
Sanders says he attained his majority in 1190 and died 1203.
