=== Mahaut de Saxe of Saxony, was the 2nd wi ===
Mahaut de Saxe of Saxony, was the 2nd wife of Enguerrand III of Coucy. She was born about 1189 in Saxony, the daughter of Henry V the Lion of Saxony, Duke of Saxony, and Matilda of England. Which made Mahaut the granddaughter of Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquaitaine; plus a niece of Richard the Lionhearted, King John Lackland; as well as sister to Holy Roman Emperor Otto of Saxony. It was no wonder that her daughter was chosen to cement these four countries, Scotland, England, France, and Germany together when Marie married Alexander II of Scotland. It is not known if Mahaut was the mother of Enguerrand's two sons, Enguerrand IV and Raoul II, but they are herein listed as hers, since the names of his other two wives are not known.
