  He is also called Simon FitzDrogo. He succeeded his father by the time of his occurrence in the Pipe Roll of 1129-1130. He and his heirs held land in the manor of Langney, held by Ranulf and William de Dives from Mortain in 1086, which suggests that Drogo's name may relate to the fishery of Pevenesel by Langney.
