“Royal Ancestry: A Study in Colonial & Medieval Families,” Douglas Richardson (2013):
"Illegitimate children of King Henry I of England, by various [unknown] mistresses:
v. MABEL OF ENGLAND, married before c.1125 GUILLAUME GOUET (or GORT), seigneur of Montmirail and Alluyes, son and heir of Guillaume Gouet, seigneur of Montmirail, Alluyes, Authon, la Bazoche-Gouet, Brou, and Château-du-Loir, by his wife, Eustachie Crespon. They had one son, Guillaume [seigneur of Montmirail]. He joined his parents and his brothers, Robert and Matthew, in the foundation of the Priory of St. Giles des Chateigniers as a cell of Tiron. In 1114, as William Gouet junior, he was one of the nobles of Thibaut, Count of Chartres, whom the count called to advise him. In 1116, with his father and mother, he gave judgment in a dispute between the abbey of Marmoutier and Gaston de Brou. As "Guillaume Goët le jeune," he witnessed a charter of Guillaume de Mesmerand to the leproserie of Chateaudun c.1120. He succeeded his father before c.1125. He made an agreement c.1125 with the Prior of Saint-Denis de Nogent regarding the churches of Ceton and Saint-Ulphace. He likewise gave c.1125 to the monks of Saint-Denis the church of Unverre that Gaston de Brou gave them and that his mother Eustachie unjustly retained; for which gift he received 10 livres and his wife, Mabel, 100 sous. About 1127 he witnessed a charter of Ives de Courville, by which he quitclaimed his land in Courville to Thibaut IV, Count of Blois. In 1136 he granted various privileges to Tiron Abbey. In 1140 he confirmed the gift of Bois-Ruffin made by Ursion de Meslay. Guizot Hist. des Ducs de Normandie par Guillaume de Jumièges (1826): 284-286 (Guillaume de Jumièges, Histoire des Normands, Liv.
