"Notes on John Lyford of Plymouth Colony and Virginia, His Child Ann, and His Widow's Second Husband" by John E D'Anieri in The American Genealogist (83:174-8) gives the following details about Sarah.
- Will of John Lyford, dated 9 Feb 1629[/30] at Shirley Hundred, mentioned son Obadiah Liford, daughter Anne Liford, and wife Sarah Liford; proved 19 May 1632 by executor, son Obadiah.
- Robert Okely was a witness to John Lyford's will and might be the second husband of John's wife Sarah which would explain why her name was Oakley.
- She married 3rd, Hobart.

! MARRIAGES: (1) Rev. John Lyford (AF9150-HG), abt 1615/16 in Ireland. They first lived in Plymouth where he was a minister, but after being banished, removed to Nantasket, Salem, Virginia, where he died the following year. She either remarried an Oakley or reverted to her maiden name by the time of her marriage at Charlestown, 10 Oct 1634 to Edmund Hobart ("Edmond Hubberd Senior and Sarah Oakley did join in marriage before me." There are no children by her marriage to Hubbard/Hobart. (We are treating this as her maiden name, mainly because of the type of man her first husband was, we doubt that she would want to continue to bear his name.) !
