She held in dower of the inheritance of Roger, her late husband: Bridgwater, the castle, with a third part of the adjoining manor of Haygrove and a third part of the borough of Bridgwater; annual values, castle and third part of Haygrove £23 10s.2d., third part of borough £9. Odcombe, two parts of the manor, annual value £10. Milverton, two parts of the manor and hundred, annual value £13. North Newton, a third part of the manor, with the keeping of the forests of Neroche, Mendip, North Petherton and Exmoor, annual value £43. The third part of the borough of Bridgwater is held of the earl of Salisbury in socage. All the rest are held of the king in chief, by the service of rendering 12s.6d. yearly at the exchequer by the sheriff from the revenues of North Newton, as appears in the great roll of the exchequer under the name of Richard Pecche. Edward Charleton, Lord Charleton of Powys, held in the dower of Eleanor countess of March, his wife, on the day that she died: Brimpsfield, the manor, annual value 20 marks. She held in dower of the inheritance of Roger de Mortuo Mari, her late husband: Winforton, the manor, annual value 20 marks and no more owing to lack of tenants because the lands were devastated by the Welsh rebels. Mansell Lacy, the manor, annual value 10 marks beyond 20 marks granted to Walter Bromwyche for life by Edmund late earl of March. Orleton, the manor, annual value £10(?). Netherwood, the manor, annual value 100s. Wolferlow, the manor, annual value 20s. beyond annuities, granted for life by Edmund late earl of March, of 100s. to Alice Benet and 20s. to Rose Child. Schedule by the escheator, stating that he attended the county court held at Huntingdon on Saturday the eve of Whitsunday, 5 Richard II, in order to extend a view of frankpledge in Wolle belonging to the earl, and that twelve jurors were called and were all present, but that two of them, John le Eyr of Gyddyng and William Dyke, withdrew and left undone what it was their duty to do in the king’s behalf, so that the escheator could not proceed. 538. Writ: 10 January, 5 Richard II SURREY. Inq. taken at Shire, 2 April, 5 Richard II. He held the under-mentioned watermill etc. in his demesne as of fee. Shire. A watermill, 26 a. arable, 50 a. pasture and heath, 26 a. wood and rents of 6l. 16s. 1d. and 1 lb. pepper, held of Richard, earl of Arundel, by service of two knights’ fees and a half and suit to the said Richard’s court of Reygate every three weeks. On 1 November, 1 Richard II, he granted a yearly rent of 6l. 13s. 4d. from the said manor and rent to John Ethelake, herald of arms, for life; and on 9 December, 3 Richard II, he granted a yearly rent of 100s. from the same manor and rent to William de la Launde for life. He held the under-mentioned manor called Lacheleghhall in his demesne as of fee. The manor is charged with an annuity of 6l. 13s. 4d. granted by the earl, by deed dated 9 March, 49 Edward III, to William Hornby for life, and with a like annuity granted by the earl, by deed dated 1 November, 49 Edward III, to John de Brystowe for life. The said William and John are still seised of those annuities. He held no other lands in the county in his demesne as of fee or in service, because long before his death he demised the under-mentioned three-fourths of the manor of Thaxstede, with the king’s licence and by a fine levied in the king’s court, to William Latimer of Daneby, knight, and others (in all respects as the manors of Strattefeld Mortymer and Woghfeld above). Long before his death to wit, on 30 September, 3 Richard II, he demised the manor with the view of frankpledge and whatever pertains thereto, except fees, advowsons, wardships, marriages and escheats, to Nicholas Chaundeler, now deceased, and Robert atte Mershe, who is still living, to hold for 9 years from the above date, rendering to him and his heirs 26l. 13s. 4d. yearly at London, as appears by his letters indented, which have been shown to the escheator and jurors. He died on 27 December last. Roger, his son by the said Philippa, aged 9 years and more, is their heir.

Roger Mortimer was born 11 April 1374 at Usk in Monmouthshire.[2] He was the eldest son of Edmund Mortimer, 3rd Earl of March, by his wife Philippa of Clarence... On 20 July 1398, at the age of 24, Mortimer was slain in a skirmish at either Kells, County Meath, or Kellistown, County Carlow... By his wife Alianore Holland he had two sons and two daughters:[16] Anne, who married Richard, Earl of Cambridge (born 1390 – executed 1415) Edmund Mortimer, 5th Earl of March (1391–1425) Roger (23 April 1393 – c. 1413)[17] Eleanor (born 1395-1422), who married Sir Edward de Courtenay (died 1418), and had no issue. Married secondly John Harpeden. Roger Mortimer's father, the 3rd Earl of March, died in 1381, leaving the six-year-old Roger to succeed to his father's title... On 25 April 1396,[12] the king appointed him lieutenant in Ulster
