Ralph de Crophull was given land in Nottingham and Derby to farm in the time of Edward II. In 9 Edward II, he had custody of the counties of Salop and Stafford, with the castle of Stafford committed to his care. In 12 Edward II, he was appointed escheator in Trent. In 1 Edward III he was possessed, along with Maud his wife of Bonyngton and Sutton, in Notthinghamship, with view of frank-pledge and other liberties, in these townships. His son was John de Crophull.
