!Information source - see George Walter Petrie (Rin #128). !Little is known of Anna Gertruyd. Some say that she was of noble blood and some researchers think she was a cousin of Queen Anne of England. !After her husband died at sea enroute to North America she remained a widow. She was one of the Burnetsfield Patentees and received 87 acres of land, lot #17, in what is now the town of Herkimer. She later gave most of the land away but retained that on which now stands the Court House and the Reform Church. !She had 3 known children: two sons Johan Jost (our ancestor) and Johan or John Conrad PETRIE born in 1698; and possibly one daughter, Catherine PETRI who married Johan Jost EIGHEIMER. !Anna Gertruyd appears to have been active in the community and became known as the "the Mother of the Palatines". !Additional information from AFN:2RFJ-FF.
