Béatrice (ou Béatrix) Fieschi de Lavagna, née en 1225 et morte en 1283[1] est une noble de la famille Fieschi, devenue comtesse de Savoie par son mariage avec Thomas II de Piémont. Elle est la nièce du pape Innocent IV.
Comtesse de Savoie Modifier
Par son mariage en 1245 avec Thomas II de Savoie, elle devient comtesse de Savoie. Thomas, excommunié par le pape pour son soutien à l'empereur Frédéric II, se voit absout à l'occasion de ces noces[2].
Le couple a cinq enfants, dont Amédée V de Savoie, futur comte de Savoie, dit « Le grand », mais aussi Louis Ier de Vaud, premier des barons de Vaud.
Mort et sépulture Modifier
Elle meurt le 9 ou le 15 juillet 1283 et est enterrée à l'Abbaye d'Hautecombe[3].

Beatrice (or Beatrix) Fieschi de Lavagna, born in 1225 and died in 1283 [1] is a noble of the Fieschi family, who became Countess of Savoy by her marriage to Thomas II of Piedmont. She is the niece of Pope Innocent IV.
Countess of Savoy Edit
By her marriage in 1245 with Thomas II of Savoy, she became Countess of Savoy. Thomas, excommunicated by the pope for his support to the emperor Frederick II, is absolved on the occasion of these nuptials.
The couple has five children, including Amedee V of Savoy, future count of Savoy, called "The Great", but also Louis I of Vaud, first of the barons of Vaud.
Death and Burial Edit
She died on 9 or 15 July 1283 and was buried at the Abbey of Hautecombe [3].

Note: THOMAS de Savoie, son of THOMAS I Comte de Savoie & his wife Marguerite [Beatrix] de Genève (Château de Montmélian [1202]-Chambéry 7 Feb 1259, bur Aosta Cathedral)...m secondly (1251 after Jun) BEATRICE Fiesco, daughter of TEODORO Fiesco Conte di Lavagna & his wife Simona --- (-8/9 Jul 1283). Matthew of Paris dates this marriage to 1251 and specifies that the bride (unnamed) was the niece of Pope Innocent IV who arranged her marriage with Thomas de Savoie, ex-Count of Flanders[510]. The marriage was arranged as part of the process of reconciliation between Thomas's brother, Amedée IV Comte de Savoie, and Pope Innocent IV following the death of Emperor Friedrich II in 1250[511]. Her dowry consisted of the castles of Rivoli and Viana with Vallesuessia[512]. A charter dated 5 Jun 1254 confirms that "Beatrix Thomæ comitis uxor" appointed "abbatiam S. Juste Secusiæ" as her universal heir[513]. The testament of "Beatricis relictæ Raimundi Berengarii comitis Provinciæ", dated 14 Jan 1264, adds bequests to "…Beatrici relictæ Thomæ de Sabaudia comitis..."[514]. The testament of "Adalasiæ relictæ Alberti junioris domini de Turre Pini et de Coloniaco", dated May 1273, bequeathed property to "…domine Comitisse del Borget consanguinee mee…Thome et Amedeo de Sabaudia filiis eiusdem…"[515]. The relationship between Beatrice and the testator has not yet been traced. The testament of "Thomas de Sabaudia primogenitus…domini Thomæ de Sabaudia comitis" dated 14 May 1282 makes bequests to "…matri meæ dominæ B. comitissæ"[516].
