Issue
Children by Henry I, King of England
The known children by Sibyl Corbet were Rainaud de Dunstanville, his brother William and sisters Gundred and Rohese; it is also possible, but not certain, that Sibyl was the mother of the king's illegitimate daughter Sibyl who was married to Alexander after he became king of the Scots in 1107.
Children by her husband Herbert
Herbert and Sibyl had three sons, Robert, Herbert, and probalby Henry.
1.) Robert
2.) Herbert. Sibyl's son Herbert fitzHerbert married Lucy, dau of Miles earl of Hereford. The [1125/35] birth date range estimated for her son Herbert, born from this marriage, suggests that she married after her relationship with the king.
3.) Henry

She married Herbert FitzHerbert between 1115-1135. The birth range for her son, Herbert, born BEEFORE the marriage of chosen husband, Herbert FitzHerbert, suggests that she married after her relationship or use as a concubine with the King. He was created Earl of Cornwall about April 1141. He and Robert, Earl of Leicester, were recognized by contemporaries as "the most powerful men in the kingdom." His wife, Mabel, fell into insanity in the 1140s. He witnessed a charter of Henry d'Oilly in the period, 1114-47. In 1153 he witnessed the agreement between King Stephen and Henry, Duke of Normandy [afterwards King Henry II]. Her name is traditional. The earliest source reporting the relationship simply calls her son the nephew of Alice Corbet. Her name was assigned as Sibyl only by later sources. It is an assumption that since her son was nephew of a Corbet, the motehr must also have been a Corbet, but at least one recent historian, Kathleen Thompson, has speculated that she was only half-sister of Alice, and that she instead was de Dunstaville.

Sibyl (or Adela or Lucia) Corbet, living 1157, daughter and coheir ofRobert Corbet, mistress of Henry I, lady of Alcester, co. Warwick andof Pontesbury and Woodcote, co. Salop (by Henry I she was mother ofReginald Fitz Roy, Earl of Cornwall). [Ancestral Roots]

no evidence to prove that Henry I married Sibyl [Ref: Sheppard Apr65p96]
It is because of Henry I's personal propensities that we knowsomething of two Corbet women who occur in the records of this period.Of his numerous mistresses Sibyl Corbet, elder daughter of Robert fitzCorbet of Longden, must have been a favourite since she bore four, possibly five, of Henry's illegitimate children. [Ref: CP XI AppendixD]
She had a younger sister Alice. Where, when and how the liaison beganbetween Henry and Sibyl is a mystery. He had already had children byvarious mistresses: among the oldest must have been Juliane, whomarried Eustace de Pacy lord of Breteuil in 1103, and rebelled againsther father; and Robert, born of an unknown woman of Caen, who wascreated earl of Gloucester by his father in 1122. [Ref Corbet citing:CP V:683: the suggestion that he was the son of Sibyl Corbet isprobably correct]
The known children by Sibyl Corbet were Rainaud de Dunstanville, hisbrother William and sisters Gundred and Rohese; it is also possible, but not certain, that Sibyl was the mother of the king's illegitimatedaughter Sibyl who was married to Alexander after he became king ofthe Scots in 1107. [Ref: Corbet citing: A.C. Lawrie, Early ScottishCharters, Glasgow 1905:charter XXXVI to Scone Priory, Alexander I, c.1120, witnessed by Queen Sibyl and her brother William; she died 12June 1122 on an island in Loch Tay to which Alexander granted charterXLVII, to canons of Scone]

The Anglo Norman Corbets by Barbara Coulton
Prominent at Matilda's 'court' were several connections of the Corbetfamily through Sibyl and her sister Alice. Sibyl had married Herbertfitz Herbert, a son of the chamberlain of Henry I; Alice married akinsman of Brien fitz Count, of Wallingford, one of the empress's mainsupporters: he was William Boterel of Botreaux. Sibyl's son HerbertFitzHerbert married Lucy, daughter of Miles earl of Hereford. . . .
We do not know when or where Sibyl and her sister Alice died, butthere is an odd footnote to their history in an old account of Asthallchurch in Oxfordshire. "On the north side of the church ... is theeffigy of a female figure recumbent, on a stone coffin, situatedwithin an elegantly Gothic arch. It is said to contain the remains ofAlice Corbett, concubine to King Henry I., the daughter of Sir RobertCorbett of Warwickshire." So a memory lingered, though confused.

He married (1st) 11 Nov. 1100 MAUD OF SCOTLAND, daughter of Malcolm III (CeannMor), King of Scots, by his 2nd wife, [Saint] Margaret, daughter of Edward Ætheling [see SCOTLAND 1 for her parentage]. She was born in 1079. They had one son, William, and one daughter, Maud. His wife, Maud, died at Westminster 1 May 1118. He married (2nd) at Windsor, Berkshire 29 Jan. 1121 ALICE (or AELIZ, ALEIDE, ALEYDA, AELIDIS, ADELIDE, ADELIDIS, ADELAIDIS, ADELIZA, ADELIZE, ATHELICE) OF LOUVAIN, daughter of Gottfried (or Godefroy) I, Duke of Lower Lorraine, Count of Louvain, by his 1st wife, Ida, daughter of Otto II, Count of Chiny. She was born about 1103. They had no issue. By various mistresses, he had eight illegitimate sons, Robert [Earl of Gloucester], Richard, Fulk, Reynold [Earl of Cornwall], Robert, Gilbert, William de Tracy, and Henry, and nine illegitimate daughters, Maud (or Mathilde) (wife of Rotrou II, Count of Perche), Alice, Maud (or Mathilde) (wife of Conan III, Duke of Brittany), Juliane (wife of Eustache de Pacy, seigneur of Breteuil and Pacy), Mabel (wife of Guillaume Gouet, seigneur of Montmirail), Constance (wife of Roscelin de Beaumont), Aline (wife of Mathieu de Montmorency), Sibyl (wife of Alexander I, King of Scots), and Isabel...
Illegitimate son of King Henry I of England, by his mistress, Sibyl Corbet:
i. REYNOLD FITZ ROY, Earl of Cornwall, Sheriff of Devon, 1173-5. He married in 1140 MABEL FITZ WILLIAM, daughter of William Fitz Richard, of Cornwall. They had one son, Nicholas, and four daughters, Denise (wife of Richard de Redvers, Earl of Devon), Maud, Sarah (wife of Ademar, Vicomte of Limoges), and Emme (wife of Guy V de Laval, seigneur of Laval). By a mistress, Beatrice de Valle (or Vaux) (afterwards wife of William Briwerre, Knt.), he had an illegitimate son, Henry Fitz Count. By an unknown mistress, he also had one illegitimate son, William. He was granted the lands of William, Earl of Mortain, amounting to 215-1/2 fees in Devon and Cornwall. He and Robert, Earl of Leicester, acted as intermediary between the king and Thomas Becket at Northampton in 1164. He played a major part in opposing the rebels of 1173-4 in England. REYNOLD FITZ ROY, Earl of Cornwall died 1 July 1175, allegedly at Chertsey, Surrey, and was buried at Reading, Berkshire. Dugdale Baronage (1675): 702 (sub Briwere) ("[William Briwere] having married Beatrix de Valle, a Concubine, as 'tis said, to Reginald Earl of Cornwall (which is probable, for in a Grant made by Henry Son to the same Reginald [Earl of Cornwall], unto this William [Briwere], of the Mannor of Karswell, and Land of Hakford, he calls him his Brother")) [Note: Dugdale evidently intended to say that Henry Fitz Count's brother was William Briwere the younger, as it was William Briwere the elder was the husband of his mother, Beatrice de Valle].

She married Herbert FitzHerbert between 1115-1135. The birth range for her son, Herbert, born BEEFORE the marriage of chosen husband, Herbert FitzHerbert, suggests that she married after her relationship or use as a concubine with the King. The Pipe Roll of 1157 records a payment to "the mother of Earl Reginald" from an estate at Milenes, Sussex.

The following additional info was supplied by Curt Hofemann,curt_hofemann AT yahoo.com:
no evidence to prove that Henry I married Sibyl [Ref: Sheppard Apr65p96]

Note: SIBYL Corbet ([1090/95]-after 1157). The Complete Peerage deduces her parentage, relationship with King Henry, and her marriage from a charter, dated to [1163/75], of her son "Reginaldus, Henrici Regis filius, comes Cornubiæ" by which he granted property to "Willielmo de Boterell, filio Aliziæ Corbet, materteræ meæ" which he had granted to "Willielmo de Boterells in Cornubia, patri…predicti Willielmi" on his marriage, witnessed by "Nicholao filio meo…Herberto filio Herberti, Baldwino et Ricardo nepotibus meis, Willelmo de Vernun, Willielmo fratre meo…Hugone de Dunstanvill…"[1664]. The [1125/35] birth date range estimated for her son Herbert, born from this marriage, suggests that she married after her relationship with the king. The question whether she was the mother of Sibyl, wife of Alexander I King of Scotland, is discussed in the document ENGLAND, KINGS 1066-1603. Lady of Alcester and Pontesbury. The Pipe Roll of 1157 records a payment to "the mother of Earl Reginald" from an estate at Mienes, Sussex[1665]. Mistress ([1110/15]) of HENRY I King of England, son of WILLIAM I "the Conqueror" King of England & his wife Mathilde de Flandre (Selby, Yorkshire Sep 1068-Château de Lyon-la-Forêt, near Rouen 1 Dec 1135, bur Reading Abbey, Berkshire). m ([1115/25]) HERBERT FitzHerbert, son of HERBERT FitzHenry & his first wife Emma de Blois (-before 1165).
